New month, new goals right? The truth is, that may not be the case for everybody. We also may have completely different goals; and guess what? That’s OK! You stick to your own timeline!

Let’s talk about new monthly goals though, do you have anything that you would like to achieve this month? Last month I officially started running my own clothing line and let me tell you, it’s no joke! I’ve been wanting to open my own clothing line for a year now; and after months of studying, researching, and preparing….it’s officially live! Mind you, there is A LOT I want to expand on, but I am beyond grateful for all the love, support, and lots of orders I have received in just 2 weeks of being open!
It’s September, and the fact that 2021 is right around the corner is actually unbelievable. We’ve been through a whole wave of emotions; and now it’s time to start emerging back to “normal”, or the new normal. What does that mean though?
When we talk about transitioning back to normal, does that mean going back to what majority of society perceives as being “normal”? This morning I was listening to a podcast called “The Veronica Bay Show”, and she made a few valid points on how we shouldn’t be afraid to have our own version of normal. Let’s take someone who likes to check their social media apps as soon as they wake up in the morning, that may be something they’re used to doing and is normal for them. Now look at someone who will wake up, grab some coffee, workout, make breakfast, and then check their phone, this is normal to that person too. Now think about this, you probably sided with one of these scenarios right? You related to it because it’s probably similar to what you do or would want to do.
Sometimes when we don’t understand or relate to someone else’s choices, we tend to judge or assume it’s out of the ordinary. We’ve all been guilty of doing that at some point in life; and that’s only natural because we’re human! There is nothing wrong with doing things your way and stepping out of the social norms though. Frankly, we normalize a lot of things that shouldn’t be normalized.
When you start to live within your own truth, you prioritize what is going to benefit you and your growth. Following the crowd and what they believe is leading you to constantly try and fix yourself to fulfill others. So as we step into these last few months of 2020, do a little self reflection on how much you have grown this year and what’s your next step. There’s no rush, but don’t let yourself just settle and wait for the “right time”. One important thing I’ve learned in 2020 is that there’s never going to be the right time, so do it right now!
