Welcome back my loves! I want to start off with a few questions this time..... What are you doing to stay busy during this uncertain time? Have you worked out today? What’s a new skill you’ve learned? Did you post about it on social media so everyone can see that you’re actually doing something? PAUSE.....
There are so many contradicting things being said out there about whether or not it’s ok to be productive or just lay back and relax. First off, if someone is telling you what is or is not ok, then there’s a big problem. Second, do whatever the heck you want to do! Today’s society has too much control over what people should think or do.

For the past year I’ve been working nonstop between dancing, teaching, and finishing up school so I could graduate. I am used to always working and being on the go. So for about the first 2 weeks of Quarantine my mindset was to stay “Positive and Productive”, but that didn’t go as planned. I felt myself trying to control everything I did, from planning out what to wear, having to take a dance class every single day, to only eating at a certain time. It started to take a toll on my mind and body, but I just couldn’t figure out why this was happening. I was being “positive and productive” right?
It was until one Saturday where I wrote out an entire schedule for the day, literally hour by hour. I saw on Instagram that my absolute favorite EDM DJ, Martin Garrix, was posting a live stream set on YouTube that same day. I’ve been to 3 of his events and his music always takes me away, so best believe your girl was ready to listen and LIVE. I was quietly working on my blog post until the live stream aired at 1 pm. I promise you that I went somewhere else. I have no idea where, but for a good 5 hours I was gone (mind you, the live stream was only an hour and a half). I ended up not staying on “schedule”, but I was so happy that I got to have a full out concert in my room, with formations and all!
(I'm exposing myself.....rare footage of me geeking out and enjoying the live set)
The point is that I may not have been productive that day, but I was completely fine with that. I’m not saying that you should or shouldn’t be positive and productive. It’s all about doing what feels right to you! If you wake up feeling pumped and ready to go, then take on a day full of activities. Don’t judge yourself though when you have those off days and may not feel as motivated to do anything. Sometimes it’s our bodies reminding us that it’s ok to rest and give yourself a break. So tell me, what did you do today?
