For someone who doesn’t drink coffee, I'm currently drinking a semi homemade cold brew frappuccino as I write this….Shoutout to my sister for making me this drink!

To all my sweets lovers, welcome to a new post! To all my salty lovers, try not to be too salty when reading this….I hope there’s someone out there who appreciated that terrible joke! Today I want to get to know you guys a little more, and what better way to do so than with talking about food! Whenever I am getting to know someone, one of the first things I like to ask is whether they prefer sweet or salty foods. It’s interesting because a lot of the answers aren’t just simple one worded answers, there is a whole explanation behind it!
For example, I eat healthy 80% of the time, but I am a true sweets lover! I can finish a whole tube of Talenti coffee and chocolate chip gelato with NO regrets, but it's also nice to mix some sweet and salty foods together. My favorite go to snack whenever I didn't have time to eat a full lunch in college was gluten free Cheetos and grapes. Another sweet and salty treat I love is dipping french fries in ice cream! Oh my, please let me know if you are someone who does that because I have some friends that think I’m wild for liking this mix. If you are ever in South Florida and are looking for some of the BEST homemade ice cream and fresh french fries, go to Jaxson’s Ice Cream in Dania Beach, pick from 20+ flavors, order some fries on the side, and I can guarantee that you won’t be disappointed!

My mom is from Jamaica, so her and my grandma constantly try to introduce my sister and I to some of their sweet and salty combinations they had when growing up. For example, bun and cheese, this is a type of spiced bread topped with a slice of cheddar cheese. It’s not my favorite, but it's a popular snack in the Jamaican culture, especially on Easter. Another combination is a freshly baked Jamaican patty paired with ice cream. I know, “wow, she’s really still talking about ice cream”, yes I am and there are still NO regrets. This combo knows how to compliment each others flavors.

For those who thought this introduction to the "Food Lover" section was going to be a complete informal post, just wait because there’s A LOT we have to talk about with food! Personally it's one of my favorite topics, but I am NOT nor plan to be your nutritionist! "Food Lover" is not a section where I tell you what to do to help you achieve any weight loss/gain goals. We are here to explore and share any foods, recipes, and restaurants that have us going "OH YES MA'AM" or "I'll pass on that one". I also want to share how my food lifestyle has changed and or helped me, and maybe inspire anyone to try anything that will help them. We’re forming a special bond, so I want to hear from you guys! Tell me whether you have a sweet tooth, salty cravings, or even both! I want to hear about any of your own creative combinations!
For anyone interested in making their own semi homemade frappuccino, here is the recipe! It works with any chilled coffee!
