In the past year and a half, I have had the opportunity to travel to a different state almost every month for dance. From Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Washington, Texas, New York, South Carolina, to even a private island in the Bahamas! Although I was there to focus on work, my friends and I always tried to sneak in a few little adventures! Every place had so much to offer, so I wanted to share with you the top 3 places/activities that you guys should check out if you are ever in the area!

#3 The Bahamas: Cat Cay

Let me introduce you guys to my friend Cricket, he is the happiest pup who loves to play in the water! Cat Cay is one of the many beautiful small islands in the Bahamas. It is completely surrounded by clear blue waters, tall palm trees, barely any internet service, and the only form of transportation on the island is a golf cart. I truly believe that this place is paradise. One morning, a close friend and I ate almonds and canned fruit out by the dock and just watched the stingrays swim by. It was so peaceful to just enjoy the moment! This island is only accessible if you pay the membership fee, which is quite a pretty penny. Now I know what you're thinking, "So why is she suggesting this place?". Like I said, this is one of the MANY islands in the Bahamas. There are a ton of cruises that take weekend trips out to different Bahama islands such as: Grand Bahama, Coco Cay, Castaway Cay, Great Stirrup Cay, and many more! I've traveled to a few of these islands and have never been disappointed with how breathtaking and calming it is out there!

#2 Las Vegas: High Roller

Yes, Las Vegas is known for some of the best spots for casinos, pool parties, and clubs. Las Vegas also has some dope hidden activities, one being a 30 minute ride on a 550 foot tall ferris wheel! You are put in this giant round glass pod and swept off to see the entire Strip come into view. To the west you’ll see the mountains that seem to go on forever, and to the east you might get lucky and see some planes landing at McCarran Airport. Be prepared to have a full on photoshoot because there is no doubt that this 360 view is nothing less than incredible!

Now if you’re looking for a quick bite after, head right around the corner to Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips for the ultimate fish & chips meal. There are other seafood options to choose from, but this recipe is straight from Chef Gordon Ramsay himself.

#1 Los Angeles: Melrose Trading Post

It’s shocking that the number one spot has to do with shopping…just a little sarcasm there. I was recently in LA working with an amazing group of women on a TV show, and a good friend of mine told us about this flea market that many locals go to every Sunday. The Melrose Trading Post is a shopping market for all budgets and tastes! You can find hipster fashion like vintage t shirts, designed denim jackets, charm jewelry, personalized Nikes (my favorite), and even furniture for your living space. It’s located in the parking lot of Fairfax Middle School, and I would say there are over 100 vendors to shop from, so make sure you have your Sunday all cleared out! The best way to describe this market is a never ending cultural outlet. We unfortunately did not get to stay for as long as we wanted to, but some of us got to purchase a good amount of things! It’s definitely on my list of places to visit again!

So the next time you're in the Bahamas, Las Vegas, or LA, try to take some time and check out these spots! I am looking forward to heading back out to all 3 of these states to look for some more hidden gems! Head to the "Let's Connect" page and let me know of any hidden spots you can recommend!
